Spirit Rally!! What a beautiful day to celebrate St. James!  Our class had a great time at the Spirit Rally!  It was great to be able to celebrate some in-person events together!  The Student Council did an awesome job at being creative and coming up with a safe, fun celebration!

50 Days of School Celebration!

Image
Pre-K, Kindergarten, 1st & 2nd graders celebrated 50 Days of School together on Nov. 16th!  The students all dressed up like the 1950's!  It was so much fun to discuss all the changes that have occurred since the 50's.  We also had lots of fun doing a bunny hop, the twist and many other dances and songs of that time period!  We counted how many times we can jump, hop and write our names in 50 seconds and we did a word hunt around the room by writing 50 different words!   Aidan & Anthony (2nd & K)

Halloween Celebration

Our kindergarten kiddos looked amazing in all their costumes and we had a wonderful time celebrating Halloween.  We loved participating in the parade around the school and showing off our costumes.  Each student also came up and did a little presentation to the class on what they chose to be and why they chose it.  We loved hearing about them and encouraging them to speak in front of others!

Apples! Apples! Apples!

What is on the inside of an apple? What is our favorite kind of apple? And our Big Question followed by a science observation?   Do Apples Float? We had lots of fun with apples in October!  We had multiple taste tests.  Red was the most popular! We also examined the parts of an apple:  skin, seeds, core, flesh.  And last, but certainly not least: do apples float?  We talked about what is floating, what things do we know that float and what do we know that sinks? We also talked about taking a good guess, an educated guess.  We talked about how awesome science is and that asking questions and making guesses (predictions) is how scientists learn, even if they are wrong.  We can learn as much from our wrong answers as we can from the right ones!   The students were split as to their guesses would it float or sink.  Then we dropped our apple boats into our tub of water!  It was magical.  They had a great time.  We then tested skin and seeds.  !   It was so much fun!  Everyone loved this les
